Day 3 at the Sacred Spirit Retreat: Confidence and Love

Day 3 of the Sacred Spirit Retreat was a profound journey into the realms of the solar plexus and heart chakras. After another delicious breakfast prepared by the talented chefs at Loon Lake Resort, our group gathered briefly before dispersing to get glammed up for the day's activities.

Preparing for the Day

The Spirit School team excels in preparation and communication, ensuring that guests feel supported and informed before the retreat even begins. Through a private group message board, attendees receive detailed directions, comprehensive packing lists, carpooling options (with gas cards for those who drive carpools), and more. One unique item on the packing list this year was an 'Elemental Photo Shoot Outfit.'

Elemental Photo Shoot: Celebrating Confidence

The focus on the solar plexus chakra, which governs confidence and visibility, set the stage for a metamorphic experience. Danielle arranged for Georgia Gomme, an intuitive and ceremonial photographer, to photograph each person in the enchanting forest surrounding the lodge. Georgia's sessions are more than just photo shoots; they are artistic, spiritual, and confidence-boosting experiences that align perfectly with the day's theme.

Guests emerged from their rooms in stunning outfits that reflected their unique personalities. They took the manual (rope pull) ferry across the lake to a trail that winds through the rainforest. The atmosphere was electric, with a blend of excitement and nervous energy.

A Day of Liberation and Support

The photo shoot was a powerful testament to the supportive and nurturing environment of the retreat. From hooting and hollering, dancing to music, and cheering each other on to moments of deeply felt support, tears, and liberation, the experience was transformative. It was humbling to witness individuals embracing, guiding, and celebrating each other. Some participants, who had initially been hesitant about the photo shoot, ended up shining brilliantly in front of the lens. Gowns were worn, champagne was sprayed, and clothing was shed—a symbolic act of surrender and acceptance.

Evening Meditation and Heart Chakra Healing

After a freeing afternoon focused on confidence and radiance, the evening turned to the heart chakra. Danielle Baker led a guided meditation centred on love and forgiveness. During this meditation, we connected with our ancestors and animal guides, returning with a tool or message to heal our heart centers. The sharing of these beautiful and moving experiences deepened our bond as a group.

Cedar Teachings and Crafting with Lydia Williams

The evening continued with a visit from Squamish Nation member Lydia Williams, who shared cultural teachings about working with cedar. She opened the session by drumming and singing, inviting us to hold the image or thought of someone we loved while she sang. This heartfelt introduction set a warm and gentle tone for the activity.

Lydia then taught us how to weave cedar bracelets. In pairs, we crafted them as gifts for each other, following a tradition that promotes connection and generosity. The laughter, occasional tears, and shared moments of this practice brought a profound sense of harmony and healing to our heart chakras, including acceptance of our imperfections.

Reflecting on a Transformative Day

Day 3 at the Sacred Spirit Retreat was a powerful blend of inner work and community support. From the confidence-boosting photo shoot to the heart-healing meditation and cedar crafting, every activity was designed to deepen our connection to ourselves and each other. The supportive environment allowed us to embrace our vulnerabilities and celebrate our strengths.

As we continue this incredible journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening, Day 3's experiences will remain a cherished and pivotal part of our transformation. Stay tuned for more updates as we delve further into this sacred retreat.
